Harry Houdini was an illusionist, escapologist and stunt performer. Houdini was born in Hungry, Budapest 1874 and moved to the America in 1878 with his mother and fur brothers. Harry Houdinis real name was Erik Weisz but changed his name to Harry Houdini after he became a professional magician. He named himself Harry Houdini after the french magician Jean Eugène Robert-Houdin. His first name was in homage to Harry Kellar who he also admired. Houdini challenged the local police when he was on tour to restrain him with shackles and lock him in their prisons. In many of these challenge escapes, he was first stripped nude and searched. Houdini then became known as "The Handcuff King." Due to Houdini specialising in escapism we will use a symbol such as handcuffs to resemble how young children nowadays want to escape from where they are to a better place.
